It’s Vegan MoFo Day 3, and my Holiday Cookie Project is in full swing. Today we really get into the holiday spirit with Chocolaty Crinkle Cookies.

So festive and pretty, these chewy chocolate marvels are almost brownie-like – a good thing in my book. In addition to cocoa, the recipe incorporates actual chocolate – which really ups the chocolate ante. Something tells me these would be undeniably wicked with bittersweet chocolate. Next time. Oh yes.

These cookies are delicious with a fabulous texture. It was hard to give them away. Definite winner.

I have armed myself with Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar (by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero), and I’m making this month all about cookies.

  1. Beautiful. I’ve made the chocolate chip cookies and today I made the chocolate fudgy oatmeal cookies (am blogging them tomorrow). I checked this book out from the library to see if there were enough recipes to make it worth buying and after those two recipes turned out phenomenally and once I turned the page and saw these very chocolaty crinkle cookies, I knew it would be mine forever. Good to see they cook up just like they do in the book.

  2. I love that you’re doing holiday cookies as your theme. I think I will be baking cookies as xmas pressies this year, I look forward to seeing all the cookies you share with us./

And I have never made these, I’ll add them to the list!

  3. These remind me of the ones we were taught to make in high school Home Ec class, circa 1980. I didn’t know a vegan version existed. Are these out of Isa’s cookie book?
